Chan is the only reality of inconceivability and ineffability.
Chan is “No dependence on words and languages; A special transmission outside the Teaching; Direct pointing at the Mind; Seeing into the self-nature and attaining Buddhahood.”
Chan is “Thus Coming, Thus Going.” That is to say, “Everything is Chan, Nothing is Chan.”
Chan is the Mind of Straightforwardness.
Chan is the Ordinary Mind (of Ultimate Pure Awareness).
Chan is “Without abiding in anything, the (Pure) Mind manifests spontaneously and simultaneously.”
Chan is the inner emancipation and freedom.
Chan is the great wisdom of no self, and the great compassion of no abiding.
Chan is the active life, being inclusive of carrying water and moving firewood, and also is the life of no self-referential attachment.
Chan is the transcendence of time, space and life, that is “When it is itself the time, space and life, free from this time, space and life.”
Chan is direct actualization of interdependence (interbeing & interpenetration) and independence (discrepancy) of all phenomena, and their perfect harmony with ultimate true-emptiness.
Chan is the Dharma Realm of One Reality, and also is the Dharma Body of Buddhas, being of non-arising & non-perishing, and of non-emptiness & non-existence.
